Slightly soft cork broke off while pulling with the corkscrew, but I was able to tease the remaining bottom third of the cork in one piece out of the bottle with the old ah-so. The bottom of the cork was covered in thick sediment and tartrate.
Concentrated purple hued and youthful color. Thick slow tears.
Nose was cinnamon topped blueberry cobbler with earth undertones.
Medium minus mouthfeel. Tasted of blueberry, candied apple, lemon and dark chocolate. The finish was bright and woody strawberry seeds and black tea.
The balance was very nice, nearly perfect. I just wish the nose was a little more open.
Still amazing at this age and a well preserved bottle.

Lovely nose, aromatic, slight hint of walnut with concentrated berry fruit, intense palate slight herbal notes, long. Excellent. EWG Green Street Tavern. 92+. Best along with the 2009. The 2006 and 2008 were less good.

This had held up well. Plenty of color, sappy with plum, raspberry jam and some black cherry. The finish carries the same flavors, with depth and just the right amount of weight. More forward in style, with some acidity remaining to carry the fruit. This is aging well, just showing some light notes of age, the slightest bit of cedar/spice box. A great treat for what is reserve Clos Pepe Estate.

Wow!! This is drinking amazing right now! It went through a "dumb phase" like many pinots but right now it's showing outstanding. Lots of roasted plum, raspberry, earth, redwood forest floor, chanterelle mushrooms. Perfect balance from nose to palate. One of the best pinots I've had in a long time!
