  • [Anhelo OR/CA Pinot/Chard Dinner]

Deep ruby color. Nose has a bit of earthiness along with bright red fruits. Pronounced intensity, red and black fruit, ripe cherries and strawberries, undertones of forest floor and wet dirt, backing of oak. Fairly enjoyable, but acid was not high enough to really lift up the wine, thus making the wine taste rounder than it is. Overall, a solid Oregon Pinot that does show potential.

We drank this alongside with the 2019 Sea Smoke Ten and Southing. I thought the acid was brighter and more enjoyable on the Sea Smoke's (lifting it up), but the Chapter 24 had the balance that I prefer.

  • That weird innocent bystander shows through. Tight right now, not quite showing its stuff. 30% new French oak. And a little bit bitter on the back of the palate. But maybe that is the previous wine. Open top, whole berries, no stems because of this fancy infusion technique. Vanilla musk perfume Rebecca notes.
