  Wine has been open for several hours now.
  
  Color is deep purple.
  
  Nose is clean, with moderate intensity aromas of dry earth and dark, sticky fruit.
  
  The first thing I notice when tasting is a big hit of alcohol, which makes sense given that it’s 15.4 ABV, followed closely by dark candied fruit notes —black raspberry, black cherry, and maybe a bit of earth. But the high alcohol bite ruins it for me and throws it out of balance.
  
  Complexity is moderate. Finish is moderate. It just seems like a bowling ball wrapped in a candied fruit roll up. Drank this alongside a 2018 Turley Buck Cobb Zin. Even though they’re about the same price, the Turley was far more complex and interesting.
