  • Popped and poured at dinner. Strawberries and cherries with some nice floral notes on the nose. Tart cherries on the palate. Nice mouthfeel with great concentration. Spicy finish. May be a little off balance on the alcohol - you can definitely taste the heat on the end. Plenty of time left on this one.

  • Wow this was nice, with some crazy grilled cheese and sriracha blue cheese tomato soup. Helpful huh? So well balanced, slightly on the fruity side of pinot with very clear, pure strawberry on the palate, set off by a typical Willamette nose with earthy moss, yes a floral rose-type scent, and just a touch of that strawberry. Pleasant lingering notes of fruit and earth.

  • -- TN from Day 3 --
    -- tasted non-blind --

    NOSE: expressive aromas and bouquet: red fruits (ras-cran-cherry); earthy; dash of oak;

    BODY: medium bodied; rustic ruby color of medium-light depth; a small amount of fine particulate matter.

    TASTE: warm red fruits; hint of coniferous tree needles on front palate; incredibly smooth (as it was on Day 1); a bit of heat on the finish; good acidity - this is probably a bit on the acidic side of well-balanced, which I enjoy; a hint of oak on the finish; sweet, but not candied. 14.1% alc.; from the Elton and Alloro vineyards.

  • Fiddlehead Cellars 2009 Fall Open House: – tasted non-blind at Fiddlehead’s 2009 Fall Open House –

    Very pretty aromatics – concentrated flower petal smell – akin to what a rose smells like a couple days before it goes bad. Smooth on the palate, with flower petals repeated here. Rich taste. My favorite Pinot of the tasting. Very well-done.
