Flannery night at the loft (My place, newk’s loft, Portland OR): The nose is a little tight at first and took about two hours to unravel. There is a lot of bright red fruits with red cherries, plums, raspberries, bright red berries, rose petals, cranberries, baking spices, herbs, and crushed rocks. While the nose shows a slightly fleshy side to the fruit, there is a real lovely underlying minerality. The feel is Medium bodied with crisp, medium+ acidity and silky, medium tannins. The feel has a bit of baby fat and roundness with an expressive quality. This absolutely needs another 4+ years to round into form. It opened up well after it was open for hours, but it still felt like it was holding back just a smidge.
