  • Dinner at le grand bain. A little bit of brett (leather) on the nose, but mostly dark fruit. Blackberries and some plum on the palate, hint of green provides freshness. M+ acid, m body, lower in alcohol than expected. Really wonderful cab franc with a long finish. Really fruit forward at this point, this could gain from a lot of time in bottle but it's drinking great now.

  • Sylvain Dittière tasting. Tasted semi-blind. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Legs.
Nose pronounced intensity, with aromas of wild animal, gamey leather, fresh dark forest vegetation, blackberries, dark plums, tobacco. Developing.
On the palate, dry, good high acidity, medium+ alcohol, fine high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of animal leather, blackberries, blackcurrant, dark plums, lots of tobacco, savoury earthiness, leafy green edges. Very long finish.
Very good quality. Lovely wild Cab Franc that is acceptably green. I like. Better value than Clos Rougeard.

  • Medium violet in the glass. Subtle aromas of black berry fruit, some plum. Palate is the same, very restrained, very green at this stage. Would like to see this develop, but it just isn’t budging right now.
