Black color. Smoky vanilla with black plum aromas. Sweet entry with herbal black plum fruit & tart acids that bring a nice mouthwatering finish. Needs food. OK.

color: deep purple; nose: subdued oak and cherry; taste: pleasing initial impression of dark fruit jam, plum mid-palate, mix of plum and abundant pepper in a velvety (but not super-lush) medium-long finish (wine's best feature) and happily without any sourness; overall: tasty and coherent package, not a bright cocoa fruit bomb like so many other Barossa shirazes, QPR is reasonable but given its price ($15 on sale at Chevy Chase Wines) there are other wines of a similar style (e.g. Yalumba Y-Series for $10) available for less money that I like equally well

Modern and classic Barossa, but restrained and balanced. Easy drinking if not exciiting.

Peculiar taste with bitter tannins - not what I expected.
