  • OK, but a bit disjointed and out of balance. Really primary nose and entry, some good tannins, and then very bright acidity, but somehow they just don’t quite play nice together yet.. Not sure what to make of it.

  • Further to my Note of Dec 22, '21: We've returned to the restaurant twice now and order this wine both times. Sold out at the winery, I think, and CAD 49/b (+ 15%) at the only shop where I could find it. It is one of the best Okanagan (Osoyoos) reds we've tasted and a good restaurant wine: At its best at opening with no time needed for evolution. Delicious red and black fruit with a pleasant black pepper note. We vacuvinned a quarter of the bottle, and 24h later it was still enjoyable but had faded some. Not for long keeping, I think. Still solid notable+ under the circumstances.

  • Clear, deep, ruby in colour. The nose is clean, medium + intensity. Primary aromas of floral, red fruit. Blossom, redcurrant, raspberry, strawberry. Hint of grass, tomato leaf. Secondary of oak, vanilla, cedar, chocolate, coffee. Hint of cheese and bread. No tertiary. The wine is developing. The palate is dry, high acidity, medium + tannins, high alcohol, medium + body. The flavour intensity is medium + and all flavour characteristics present with flint, earth, dirt as well. Finish is medium +. Quality is very good, can drink now and has potential for aging.

  • Bought a bottle for CAD 52 (+ 15% alc tax on the dinner tab--+ tip on that) on a local restaurant's half-price-wine night (that's within a few dollars of its retail at the winery--if you can find it). Screwcap. Dark purple; fragrant spicy red fruit nose, some spiced apple; ripe red fruits, spiced apple, bit of chocolate; very good mouthfeel; good persistence. Delicious and one of the best (and more expensive) BC reds I've had. Saved some for 24h with considerable fruit fade. Very good now but doubt it's for long keeping. My evaluation: For my non-points, 4-level rating scheme, see earlier posts. This is notable+ when considering quality, age, and price in the BCLDB environment (high taxes, highly regulated and protected).
