Dark red in color with slight fading at the edges. Dark, brooding nose of blackberry and herbs. Bright, almost light (?) on the palate. Blackberries, roast meat, black cherries, spice. Anise on the mid-palate. Fine tannins, sharp acidity (perhaps a hair too much), good balance. Finishes long and gradual and dark fruited. Lovely wine if perhaps a bit past peak. Drink next 4 to 5 years.

Large scaled, mulled fruit but not roasted. Hanging together but the alcohol isn’t doing it any favors. This performed better than several older SQNs Ive had, but I don’t think the winemaking vision is to build long ager wines. These are meant to be popped and enjoyed in a group!

Cork broke, decanted 3 hours in advance which was just right. Deep color, dark fruits...blackberry and plum; licorice: tobacco; and cedar. Very concentrated and youthful. Tannin are integrated, but present. Acidity in balance. I wish I had a few more to try in a few years, but I only had one bottle. I

Decanted 3 hours Alcohol is high as most Saxum. Took a while for the alcohol to blow off, but nice round black fruit. Acid is a high, but velvety mouthfeel. Blackberries, almost a banana flavor I have had from other California Rhine blends. This alcohol would be great to cut through a nice fatty steak. Some middle eastern spice, black currant. Nice wine, but alcohol is intense.

Cork cracked when opening but looked good. Fruit. Tannins. Drink. Went well with food to without food.
