Nose: Chocolate covered tart red berries, scorched earth, rocks, flowers. Palate: Dark plum, grainy tannins that grip more when given additional time to open up in the glass; nice backbone of gently used oak that's also warming; bit of tangy tart pomegranate on the finish.

Beautiful nose, with ground pepper, tobacco, violet, black currant, and mint. On the palate, caramel and green pepper also appear. Slightly bitter end notes. Oldschool, one for food. Likely to improve with further cellaring, drink 2027-2035.
Compared with the 2020 Lilian Ladouys that I drank next to it, this one is more complex and interesting, more obviously from Bordeaux, but less polished.

Dried flowers, herbs, tobacco leaf, lead pencil and cherry aromas are your initial attraction. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, fruity, forward and fresh with a nice blast of sweet, ripe, polished cherries on the mid-palate and in the creamy finish where you find a refreshing note of spearmint on the backend. Drink from 2023-2037.

Decant for 1.5 hours. Dark fruit with cherry finish. Medium to light body and average levels of acidity. I’d try this in 2026.

Airoldi - Bordeaux En Primeur 2020 (Quay Restaurant, International Passenger Terminal, Sydney): Biscuit, toast, plum, cream, touch of pyrazine on the nose. In the mouth, though, the monstrous tannins close down the palate entirely. Old school. Lots of time based on this tasting.
