  • PnP, good. A simple, rather diminutive crianza in this vintage. Cool acids, soil, red/dark red fruits, avg length and complexity. A decent enough house red at your neighborhood bistro. Good for what it is. Drink this year or next. 13,5% abv. recommended

  • 85% Tempranillo, 15% Grenache and Mazuelo
    about half from estate vineyards around Haro in Rioja Alto and rest
    from long-time growers/suppliers.
    Fermented in a 20,000-kilo stainless steel tank at a controlled temperature
    between 25 and 27ºC with daily pump-over and racking twice
    during a 12-day maceration. Then pressed and malolactic in
    tank, followed by 1 yr aging in American oak barrels.
    13.5% Abv.

    History: Founded in 1879 in the town of Haro in Rioja by the
    two Real de Asúa brothers, and today is still controlled by the
    direct descendants of the founding family.

    A(ccuray)=2: Med deep ruby. Ripe robust blend.
    B(alance)=2: Warm fruit with adequate structure.
    C(omplexity)=2: Dark berries, plum, prune, herbs, earth.
    D(epth)=1: Round mouthfeel. Even palate and finish.

  • Very nice lighter bodied, relatively fruity wine with enough structure to pair with kbbq pork.

  • Garnet color with medium legs. Green olive cranberry and red licorice on the nose. Sour cherry, cinnamon and green tea on the palate. Light silky finish with some acidity.

  • Medium ruby colour. Medium and developing nose with red cherry, red plum, dried herbs, charred wood, tobacco and black pepper. Medium (+) long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. Medium body. A good Crianza that lacks some complexity. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with beef or pork.
