PnP, good. A simple, rather diminutive crianza in this vintage. Cool acids, soil, red/dark red fruits, avg length and complexity. A decent enough house red at your neighborhood bistro. Good for what it is. Drink this year or next. 13,5% abv. recommended

85% Tempranillo, 15% Grenache and Mazuelo about half from estate vineyards around Haro in Rioja Alto and rest from long-time growers/suppliers. Fermented in a 20,000-kilo stainless steel tank at a controlled temperature between 25 and 27ºC with daily pump-over and racking twice during a 12-day maceration. Then pressed and malolactic in tank, followed by 1 yr aging in American oak barrels. 13.5% Abv.
History: Founded in 1879 in the town of Haro in Rioja by the two Real de Asúa brothers, and today is still controlled by the direct descendants of the founding family.
A(ccuray)=2: Med deep ruby. Ripe robust blend. B(alance)=2: Warm fruit with adequate structure. C(omplexity)=2: Dark berries, plum, prune, herbs, earth. D(epth)=1: Round mouthfeel. Even palate and finish.

Medium ruby colour. Medium and developing nose with red cherry, red plum, dried herbs, charred wood, tobacco and black pepper. Medium (+) long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. Medium body. A good Crianza that lacks some complexity. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with beef or pork.

Very nice lighter bodied, relatively fruity wine with enough structure to pair with kbbq pork.
