  Closed and tannic but also rather weedy when opened the first day. After two days under vacuum the second half of the bottle was much better: pleasant nose of violets, rubber inner tube repair kits and dark cherries. Fairly austere on the palate but some fruit is starting to show through. A bit of length. Will probably improve with a couple more years.
