  • Nose: Elegant with notes of red fruits, roses and spices.

Palate: Medium-high body with good concentration and complexity. Red fruits, red berries, flowers, hint of herbs and spices. Long finish.

Note: No need for decanting. Excellent now, with some storage potential.

  • Interesting and very enjoyable wine. Too cold after a couple hours in the fridge, needed to be left out for a while to open up.

    Medium pink colour.

A lot to unpick on high intensity nose with cherry, raspberry and oak very apparent but also citrus and crushed rocks.

High intensity and dry on the palate where some peach flavours come through with medium plus acidity, light and silky tannins which add some interesting structure, medium plus body, long finish.

Will have to try more of Jorge Monzón's wines.

  • High altitude vineyards, organic viticulture. Field blend of Tempranillo and Albillo with Garnacha, Bobal and others, 100% whole cluster, co-fermentation and ageing in French oak, 14% ABV. Medium salmon pink colour, lots of ripe fruit, ripe but fresh, lovely balance, silky texture, gentle grip from the oak but far less woody than I remember from the 2016. Versatile. At restaurant Taiko, Amsterdam, NL.

  • A hell of a time dislodging enough wax to enable the two step Pulltap to have a glass ledge upon which to pull out the cork, but once we did, quite a serious rosé here. There's something buttery and red wine-rich on the nose, it honestly reminds me of Riserva/Gran Riserva Rioja where rich fruit came in contact with American oak; but that's simply an impression and likely doesn't match the winemaking here. I feel like we drank it before it had a chance to deploy some extra layers of flavor, but a very interesting and exceptional rosé, fun to pull apart. We tried to pair it with salade niçoise and it almost worked, but the garlic and some green beans I think were a bit at odds with the wine.

  • By the glass. A claret seeking that seriousness of the texture with a youthful fruity and carefree look. Acid and not too structured, another expensive rosé wine that would not mind sleeping a few years to acquire complexity.

Por copas. Un clarete que busca la seriedad de la textura con el aspecto juvenil frutal y despreocupado. Ácido y no demasiado estructurado, otro vino rosado caro al que no le importaría dormir unos años para adquirir complejidad.
