Dark red color. One would expect vibrant purple. Smelled like manure upon opening. No big deal, air often blows that off. Disjointed on the palate, and not very recognizable as Dolcetto. Clear to me it wasn't going to happen on Day 1. Poured into an empty, clean 375 ml bottle and vacuumed up. Day 2 - now presents more balance, less flaws, but just a weak core of fruit and very short finish. Overall - simple and uninspiring. Not expecting Nebbiolo greatness, but it lacks even a pure plummy profile you associate with this varietal. With a name like Ceretto, this shouldn't happen. If their Dolcetto plots are sub-par (I doubt it), then that's one thing. But if an interest in greatness is not a strategy, dig them up and plant something else. Quite disappointing.

Heavy red cherry that falls off pretty quickly. Med-plus acid, med tannin. Red cherry and raspberry, a little wet earth and a hint of vanilla. Not bad but the body and the finish were light. Drank with grilled chicken thighs, sautéed kale and mushrooms.

Lacks the fun plummy fruit a good Dolcetto should have. Out of balance, high acid. Past its peak already? Last bottle of 2, glad to see it go.

And that is a fresh and spicy dolcetto. The lunchtime favorite! And tart and hard and a little green to it. But out of Coravin.
