Late night visit by J. Popped and poured into Eto. Drank in Grassl Cru. Explored over next 3 nights. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of vanillin baby milk powder, ripe red plums. Youthful. On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), silky medium tannins, just about full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet ripe red plums, ripe red cherries, sour red cherries, background of young balsamic sweet herbs and spices, bits of chocolate and spiced oak enveloping. Long finish. Very good quality. Elegant and silky, despite the ripeness and oak use. Will do well in a few years with some development. Would love to try this in a cooler vintage and with some age.
