Pnp. Medium+ purple-garnet in colour. Nose of black cherries, blackberries, with some herbal notes and a hint of green bell pepper trailing off. On the palate, noticing some red currants, black peppers, some cherries, and black tea at the end. Medium bodied with a medium finish.

Deep, dark-garnet color, opaque with bright ruby edges. Aromas of fresh blackberry & black cherry, with secondary bell pepper & bay leaf, crushed violet, sage, cracked pepper and hints of clove. Snappy black raspberry and currant fruit on the palate, with secondary black tea, chalk minerality, mushroom and paprika spices. Medium-bodied, with supple fleshy depth, high-toned acidity, and ripe round tannins, finishing with juicy moderate length.

Having enjoyed the 2018 (full notes on the vineyard there 9/18/2020), on to the 2019. For fun, compared to the Musset-Roullier's Neuf Vingt 2019. Colour: v deep red, v thin rim, cherry tinge. Nose: full, fresh, at first a bit carbonic but blew off, ripe if a bit austere, good varietal notes, brambles, cherries. Taste: light body, rounded, fresh, bright red fruits, red cherries mixed with redcurrants, notable acidity, long finish, good cherry notes, hints of soft tannins. Overall, this is, as VESPASIAN suggests in the previous note on this wine, dense and young. The M-R Neuf Vingt is more supple, more fruit driven as the Chiens-Chiens gains depth and earthiness with time. Fascinating comparison of interpretation of CF fruit!

Inte lika god. Kändes aningen korkad trots att den inte var det.

12 months in (well-used) barriques, all clay soil
A serious offering, dark fruit with underlying mineral, persistent tannins - long and supple, probably still on the young side
