  • Good. This is not great wine, but it is just fine for $15 (maybe less) at Costco. It's a bit syrupy, dark cherries, maybe some cocoa and pretty much what I would expect from a Sonoma merlot. We had it with grilled steaks and roasted veggies and my wife, who is a right-bank girl with Bordeaux thought it was "ok, not great" and had the second glass. Happy wife, happy life...right?

  • The shelf talker rating at Costco was 90 from the WE, we have very different palates or got very different bottlings. Lots of sweet toasted cherry ( tastes overripe to me and a bit high in alcohol). Label says plums so that could be the other thing. A bit of sour cherry on the finish.

Will be gifting the 2nd bottle I purchased to friends who love Apothic Red. If you enjoy that style or the bourbon barrel trend I think you will like this.
