After an hour of aeration in wide-bottom decanter, this had fanned out nicely. Good soil and mineral underpinning several layers of bright red, sapid fruit. Fumbles at times, as many fine youths do, but quickly recovers and suggests it'll balance out quite nicely with more rest. It's not yet in its preferred zone for my tastes, but it's giving all signs it'll get there. Revisit in four to seven years. 13,5% abv. For its full potential it's highly recommended

PnP. Natural cork. Fresh cherry and berry notes on the nose. Feels like it's going to be light and fresh, but the palate is anything but. So much depth and latent power on the attack, weight on the mid and a finish that lingers for ages. I've had many a GC from lesser producers with less weight and complexity. Mighty fine wine.

Mouchonnat Annual Off-Tasting - Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Beaune): Walk around tasting. Big, ripe and fun, but clearly showing 1er Cru density with good length as well. Maybe not quite finessed, but lots here. Also better now vs when tasted last year. 89-90 point potential, 2025 forward.

Monday Burgundy Cellar Visits - Albert Morot, Méo-Camuzet, and Ramonet (Cote d'Or): Tasted at the domaine. On the jammy side for Ramonet, but that might be 2019 coming through. Certainly fun when young, but there might be intriguing aging potential here.
