At a Wayfarer tasting with Cleo Pahlmeyer. Although the 2019 is almost certainly the better vintage I preferred the 2017 (see note). 14.5% alcohol. 1750 cases. Definitely needs time. 91 now, but I'm sure the score will rise.

Last bottle of the evening. Younger with more fruit in the body which appealed to the party. Will explore again in a year. Ranked behind the 2014 Finn ( better balance and nose) and the Kosta Brown 2015 Gaps Crown ( equal fruit but more balanced) b

(Non-France) Pinot Noirs of North London (Must & Lees, Warren Street): Wham, bam - such an obviously appealing bright, sweet nose. Full of generous, expansive fruit, with a touch of warmth on the finish (it's 14.5%!), but without any blockiness - an excellent example of full-throttle Pinot, whose sunny charm saw it voted group WOTN (and it was my #2).

very enjoyable--raspberry, sour cherry, tart, acidic with deep fruit. good length of density.

dense, smooth, focused, well-bundled, not a lot of length...dark cherry, blackberry, raspberry...
