Colour shows solme maturity, but not much. Label 13% abv which seems pretty low for a new world red these days. Smoky nose initially, wiht some black and red fruit. Palate rather spiky, with a the acidity being rather prominent, though the tannis were pretty smooth. Not a lot of Syrah character. The early smokiness quickly morphs into a burnt rubber quailty. Oh dear. It's hard to get away fom this, once seen. It's fine, but not my thing, though the non-wine geeks with me rather liked it. A little disappointing as their Chenin Blanc is so good.
