  • Organically farmed Marche wine, a blend of 70 percent Montepulciano and 30 percent Sangiovese, aged for eighteen months in French barriques (of which 50 percent were new). Decanted: one hour prior to tasting. Color: dark ruby-red with a slightly watery rim. Bouquet: scents of blueberry, plum, leather, black pepper and some earthy nuances. On the palate: a tart, medium- to full-bodied wine dominated by sour cherry and raspberry fruit, with still quite present tannins and a serious acid structure. Finish: good aftertaste with a touch of astringency. The wine is already enjoyable now, but will certainly improve over the next two–three years.
