  • A nice white burgundy, although absolutely not worth the price. Can’t blame them for charging what the market will pay, but it is always a bit of a shock to try the wine and realize you’ve had many $50 bottles (and some $25 bottles) that were objectively better wines.

Pale straw, with a clean nose of yellow currents, wax, and hints of roasted coffee beans — a bit unexpected but in fact the aroma is faint and it works quite well. On the palate, the wine seems a tiny bit dilute, but has good varietal character, nice delineation, and a long mineral finish. There is a hint of bitterness that I enjoyed, and it saves the wine from feeling a little dull.

Should age well. Certainly drinkable now, but if think this could gain in complexity over a five or eight year timeframe. I would not hold it longer.
