  Deep dark ruby. Smelled overwhelmingly of vanilla, with red fruit and leather creeping in at the edges and (fortunately) much more present in the taste. In the mouth it was big but with some acidic bite as a Barbera should have. Surprisingly long on the finish so perhaps age would improve it, as the DIAM 5 cork suggests.

  Smell: Black cherry, strong fruit scent, slight tobacco
  Taste: Medium acidity, strong alcohol, medium tannin, medium body
  Alcohol 14.5%
