Medium silver colour, with a hint of lime. This has a lovely nose, honeyed, peppery and complex. Medium bodied palate, oily, mineral and salty. An interesting wine from Jim Barry and enjoyed tasting it.

Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of light lemon-green colour, with wide watery rims and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium (-) intensity aromas of green fruit of green apple, citrus fruit of lemon zest, floral notes of ginger blossom, stone fruit of peach, herbaceous notes of grass, mineral notes of flint and saline. The wine is youthful. Palate: Dry with high acidity, the wine has medium (-) alcohol, light body, with medium (-) intensity flavours of citrus fruit of grapefruit, green fruit of green apple, herbaceous notes of grassy, mineral notes of saline, sweet spice of ginger. The wine has a medium (-) finish. Conclusion: Good quality Clare Valley Assyrtiko with a light nose showing simple but delicate aromas, with good perfume of blossom, citrus and grassy, with hints of peach, plus flinty and some ginger spice. On the palate it is light in body, with good acidity, highly refreshing and while not strong in concentration and length, it is an easy-going wine to enjoy as an aperitif. Ready to drink now and not meant for ageing.
