Medium(+) intensity, developing aromas of ripe, plump red cherry, kirsch, black cherry, red raspberry, blue plum, grape skin, tomato leaf, rosemary, bay leaf, vanilla, coffee, mushroom, fig, prune, balsamic vinegar.
Dry, fresh medium(+) acid, medium alcohol, medium fine-grained tannins, medium(+) bodied, medium(+) intense flavors of ripe, plump red cherry, kirsch, black cherry, red raspberry, blue plum, grape skin, tomato leaf, rosemary, bay leaf, vanilla, coffee, mushroom, fig, prune, balsamic vinegar. The finish is ripe fruits and medium.
This is a good wine. There is a good balance of ripe fruit concentration and higher acidity. The alcohol is well integrated into the wine, as are the fine-grained medium tannins. While the focus is on a balance of fresh red fruits and riper, almost confected red and black fruits, there are sufficient complex flavors of herbs (rosemary, bay leaf), oak maturation (coffee, vanilla), and tertiary development (fig, mushroom). The finish is ripe and medium in length. For this to be a very good wine, it must be more complex with more defined flavors and aromas and a lengthier finish.
This wine is suitable for bottle aging. The wine has a sufficient balance of high fruit concentration, fresh acidity, and medium tannins to develop positively. With bottle aging, the wine should develop a leathery texture and dried cherry, earth, and tobacco notes.
