Picked this up on sale, which is what motivated me to try it. My wife called the nose “musty old newspapers” with a touch of cream. I called Granny Smith apples. This latter is confirmed very intensely on the palate. There’s a bit of toasty oak on the finish. This is bright and acidic but very one-note. Would be quite food-friendly. Definitely not winning any awards but a pleasant enough quaff.

I found this to be surprisingly lovely and complete for just over $10. Not at all a complex or especially vibrant wine, but really feels like a solid chard with various orchard fruits, nice little oaky/malo tones of toast and butterscotch (not overwhelming) and decent acidity providing lift to the relatively rich profile. It's no giant-killer but I could see it beating out many other $15-or-less chards, easily.

This light golden wine was uncorked and poured, being consumed over a two-hour period thereafter. With moderately intense aromas of baked apples, white peaches, pineapple and a touch of spicy oak, it is a medium-bodied white with well-integrated alcohol (14.0%) and fairly good lift. The flavors mirror the aromas, staying solid on the mid-palate and concluding with medium length. For the price, this is a credible Chardonnay that will be at its best over the next 2-3 years. Drink now-2025.

Not a prize winner, but very pleasant and easy to drink. Served it cold on a warm spring day and it hit the spot.
