This is a dark violet colored wine. The aroma is significant with fruits and cedar. The fruit flavors of strawberry, blackberry, cherry, and warm spices are incredibly intense along with a muscular body. Even with the heavy body the consistency is silky. The tannins are soft. The finish is persistent. This is a high alcohol wine (14.7%) indicating that the grapes were quite ripe. It's made from an undisclosed blend, but to my palate zinfandel dominates the blend. Many fine wine drinkers will scoff at such somewhat jammy "crowd pleaser" wines, but just drinking it alongside a spicy pizza gave me some respect.

It's Caymus. You know what you're going to get - rich, thick, sweet. Enjoy it for what it is. If that's not to your taste, fine. We enjoyed the bottle upon first being opened. Less so after several hours.
This being a zinfandel blend, I'd choose other zins I like much more.

Nice Zinfandel blend. Sort of like The Prisoner and Austin Hope. Fruitful with a hint of pencil shavings, alcoholic and long finish.

Had a rep drop off a bottle cause I was sickened but curious about this product from the Wagner empire.
Only decanted about 30m cause I was too eager to taste it.
Cherry Cola, juicy black fruit, blueberry pie, vanilla, a wack ton of oak, star anise, hot chocolate.
Even with decanting I thought the fruit & oak tasted disjointed.
