PnP, consumed over 3 hours. Appearance: Clear, medium yellow. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with developing aromas of Meyer lemon, apple, saline, straw, and melon rind. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium+ intensity, medium body with a nice slightly creamy mouth-feel, low 12.5% abv with developing flavors of Meyer lemon, melon rind, and saline with a medium+ finish.
Overall, a great Bourgogne level bottling delivering great bang for the buck. Drinking well upon opening today, while likely not a long ager, should drink well for at least 2-4 years.

A pleasant nose of white peach, citrus and ginger spice. Good volume and depth. Plenty of flesh. Unctuous with some phenolic chew to the finish. Plenty of wine here for the level.

So much more than a BB- in fact so much more than any Bourgogne Cote D’Or appellation. This is taking on weight, gaining complexity and suddenly, after being so lean and light in its youth, is suddenly nowhere near ready and wanting time to integrate the oak. These bottles perfectly epitomise the wine in the bottle as a living, breathing developing thing. No expert here but 5 more years sleep would have done this bottle no harm at all.

I am very lucky to have bought 12 of these and to have a wine of this quality as my “house white” as the weather warms up! It’s a beautifully restrained, elegant expression in 2020- the minerality, poise, kiss of oak and long light persistence make this a delight. Not punching above it’s level but winning every bout in its class!
