  • This is still a steely solid performer. Unadorned apricot attach with a flinty finish. Some hint of boxwood, but not at all strong. Crisp acidity frames the wine from beginning to end. That framework is like sun-bleached, bone-dry limestone. Tight, clean and linear. Performing well now and bound to be a summer pleaser. 13% alc. With fried chicken - delicious. Recommended.

  • Over a year has passed since pulling one of these. For $20, it far surpasses expectations. While by no means a great wine, it nevertheless is a satisfying wine. It delivers a background note to the food, lifting it. Lean and crisp with boxwood and apricot elements that segue to a finish of flintiness. Simple and unadorned, it succeeds. 13% alc. With apps of cheeses (St. Andre, chevre and something crottin-like), crusty bread, sun-dried tomatoes and mozzarella. With GRY, DD and PM. Recommended.

  • Not much has changed since last summer when I observed this to be “Solid, clean and crisp. Well made. Boxwood and apricot on the attack; limestone and flint on the finish.” The flinty finish provides a mouth-scrubbing cleanliness. No oak and not an ounce of flabbiness. 13% alc. With a salad including mixed greens, avocado, comte cheese and country ham; a good pairing. Recommended.

  • A basic, price point Sancerre. Solid, clean and crisp. Well made. Boxwood and apricot on the attack; limestone and flint on the finish. At $21.00, it’s at the lower end of Sancerres anymore, but well worth the tariff at that price. 13% alc. With various chevres. Recommended.
