Youthfully light colour followed by petroleum, pear, rhubarb pie and camomile. The palate is already quite round and rich, with good acidity and a little sample of each and every fruit in the white-yellow-green spectrum. Just like a young man, it is indeterminate yet serious, expressive yet weak. Let’s all hope he will age into a graceful, sophisticated woman. 91 points

From half bottle, this has a nose of smoky mineral, tangerine and mango. It is full and textural, with some tart fruit rind freshness and a clean and dry finish.

Initially on the nose this wine if full of petrol (TDN) compound. With time in the glass, the petrol aroma dissipates into beautiful ripe lemon, pineapple, and honey. On the palate, this wine is elegant, medium bodied, and displays balance. The finish is long and satisfying with acidic lift reminiscent of lime zest.

Pale straw. Green apple on the nose. Someone else mentioned plastic beach ball on the nose which hilariously I also find. In the mouth, green apple and pineapple on entry. Sharp acidity which quickly fades, mild mineral, a little woody heat. Linear from mid into finish. Not sure why the acidity seems to dissipate so quickly? I think this suffers because of it and becomes a bit fleshy.

Too much acidity for my taste as it overpowers with lack of body and balance. If served not too cold, the acidity mellows somewhat but the balance is still missing, leaving the wine too light and somewhat uninspiring. Perhaps age will bring more balance ?

French wines in Paris; 1/20/2024-1/27/2024 (Paris, France): By glass at the Maison Lucas Carton, where a visit is a Belle Époque itself. For a Michelin 1 star, this restaurant is surprisingly gourmet even by Parisian standards.
