  • I served this in my wine course. Earthy volcanic nose with herbal thyme. Light weight. Tea leaf tannins on the beautiful finish. Excellent.

  • Granite, sea flavour, boysenberry, sour cherry and unripe raspberry. Light body, present acidic backbone.

Definitively interesting red from volcanic terroir but I prefer Envinate' s reds from Ribeira Sacra.

  • Cherry candy in front of a granite / mineral core and then bigtime acidity takes over. Didn't have a way to chill this one down, feel like that would have been the way go and then serve with salami or a rich meat dish.

  • Wine has been made on the Canary Islands since the 15th century, yet this is my first time with one. Intriguing, distinctive - bright red cherry nose, slight reduction, anise, and garrigue, peppery but not hot on the palate. Bright acid. 12% ABV

  • 48% Negramoll, 50% Listan Negro, 2% Listan Blanco. 100-year-old vines. Sandy clay soils over basalt (volcanic) rock. Partial carbonic maceration (20%), which is traditional in the region, and whole cluster (roughly 2/3) in plastic and concrete. Aged in neutral French oak around 8 months. This is the first vintage of this cuvee.

Unfiltered but transparent purple color. You have to like volcanic wines to enjoy this one. It’s all about smoky, volcanic rocky notes on the nose and palate with some iodine and mild herbal notes. It’s light-bodied but there’s a lot of intensity and tension from the acidity. Sour raspberries and blackberries. Easy to drink texturely, but some may want to wait for the acidity to soften up. You might say it’s a volcanic, tart Beaujolais given the carbonic maceration and light-bodied, fruity nature. 92+
