  • Wonderful wine that is at its peak, I believe. Deep and typical pinot flavors with long finish. Decanting not a bad idea but this wine needs no breathing as it was so very nice upon opening. I am so sorry that this was my last bottle. Had it with small, grilled fillets.

  • Fading now, I plan to drink all I have left within a year. More tar and less cola and black cherry. Distinctive PN nose but now showing some weakness on the palate and finish. This never was a complex wine, but was a very tight and balanced PN with great balck cherry, toasted oak, and cola. Still, it's in the cellar at less than $10 a bottle, and it has been a delightful glass of Pinot Noir every time I have opened one.

  • I know I'm just posting notes to myself because this wine is not widely held, but it is just so good I am compelled to do so. A year since last tasted, the wine has improved markedly . The cherry, oak, and spice box dominate the nose, it's medium body is elegant and refined, the fruit so sweet and lifted, and a soft, round but persistent finish that carries on for half a minute. All this from a $12 bottle? This is the Sonoma Coast appellation. A lot of folks are making teriffic pinot from the Sonoma Coast and RRV, but at this quality and price point, this is as good as it gets. Wish I had a dozen more.

  • Generous nose of spices, smoked peppered meats, oak, cherry and forest. Gentle, rounded, and opulent mouthfeel with sweet fine grained tannins. This is a pinot that continues to impress me.

  • This is the pinot that introduced me to the varital. A great QPR, this wine has a wonderful nose of black cherry, vanilla coke, earthy mineral and oak. The palate is smooth and lush with lots of cherry and oak. The tannin and acidity are in perfect balance and the finish is long and luscious with light, fine tannins and cherry cola.

I am sure I 'will have better pinots in my lifetime (as I now own Shea, Pisoni, Gary's pinots), but I don't expect any could make me forget the first one. This is a $10 wine that drinks like a $25 bottle.
