This is mostly made from 2007 Pinot Noir grapes, but also has some from 06 and 08. I thought it was a subtle smell, and a nice plum color. Teresa thought it had a nice soft taste, tannins on the back end and would go very well with cheese.

Nose dominated by smoke and oak. Sweet, syrupy cherry fruit. Touch of brick color and slightly oxidized flavors. Developing fast and won't last much longer. Purchased approx 2003, was told at winery it was mostly 2001 fruit.

Friday, November 19, 2004 Nose of mocha, coffee and cherry. A deft hand on the oak. Nothing about this wine spoke of California. In fact, had I tasted it blind, I’d have guessed Pinot from Oregon. Flavors followed the bouquet with black cherry, cocoa, mocha, coffee and cola. No vanilla notes at all. A somewhat disappointingly thin finish and somewhat hot finish, but for $14.00 a bottle, it’s not bad; certainly better than Castle Rock. Interestingly, no vintage noted on the label. However, the shop owner did not think it was a NV wine. He thought it might be ‘02 fruit based on his recollection of a conversation with the distributor, but wasn’t certain. 14% alc. With sausages and Roaring 40’s blue cheese.

Not bad. Would have been a nice wine if $12.
