  • 95. A solid "A." I am impressed! This wine was harvested just over 20 years ago, I've had this wine in my cellar since 1996 or 1997, forgot about it, opened it on a whim and holy smokes am I impressed!!! Ruby/tawny in color. Strawberry/cherry/cola/candy nose. The generous palate confirms the nose 80% with the addition of chocolate and ripe-dried cranberry. The body is divine, dances around my mouth with power, yet has no heat and a soft tannin structure. (Gotta love a 13% wine that tastes ripe!) I don't know if this was a fluke or they are a better winery than people knew… '94 was a great vintage, and Anderson Valley is awesome Pinot turf… Whatever, "I wish you were here" to check this out. Too bad, just my wife and I will enjoy this gem. I stored it deep in a cellar, which is why I forgot about it. Check out the almost failed cork in the image… Unless you have PERFECT storage, enjoy this wine ASAP. I recall buying this like it was last week, I cannot believe it was 18 years ago...
