Pop and pour at home. A gift from friend. Initially small pour, already opening up. Fruit bomb. Bottle decanted for 1.5 hours, holding up very well, no major evolvement. Good value as my friend got it for ~80 USD.

Needed a good hour of decanting to become itself (tasted soft and unimpressive upon opening). Classical NR Syrah notes but overall not particularly impressive at $80. Many Cornas offer better value relative to this.

Syrah blind tasting. 3 syrahs of varying price ranges (20$ 50$ and 100$)
This underperformed. The first nose was very weak. Blue fruits, a bit of herbs. Very smooth but nothing to wow me. I don't have much notes on this because I couldn't get much out of it. It was destroyed by a wine at 1/5th of its price. Honestly wondering if I got a dud because other reviews here have all been positive.
20$ wine was Vigne d'à côté by Cuilleron 92pts
50$ wine was St-Joseph by Tardieu-Laurent 91pts

PnP. ABV 13.5%. €62.50 before taxes and shipping charges. My first experience with this particular cuvée. A bottling intended for restaurant sales initially for more immediate pleasure. From vines planted in late 90s and early 2000s according to JLL. Highly perfumed from the start with notes of flowers, herbs, stems (apparently 100% destemmed tho), and a whiff of alcohol. Sweet and fine tannins, dark fruits mainly. All primary fruits at the moment and drinking beautifully. Drinking more like a young Gonon with its explosive floral notes, smooth tannins, and good balance. Loved this and will buy regularly in the future. It’s from Domaine Jamet, never going to be cheap but very good quality tho. Looked like I found myself another wine to go with Spaghetti Bolognese besides Gonon. 93-94 pts.

Mostly primary fruits, drinks very well despite its young age. Salty and savory with good balance. A very impressive bottling to follow.
