  • It got better with air, but this is full of ripe dark berries like blackberry, blackcurrant, blueberry, black cherry and some very ripe strawberry as well. There’s some powerful oak coming through with some sort of medicinal herbalness as well. Decent acidity but the somewhat sweet ripe berries is the dominating factor.

  • Ran into this spontaneous wine tasting at a restaurant on the slopes in Zell am See. Fruity with black berry, black currant, spices.

  • Color: Ruby/purple. Nose: Berries, cherries, a slight stink. Mouth: Good expressiveness. Lean and tight. Light to medium bodied. Medium length. Slightly bitter finish. Needs air at this stage. The stink went away completely. More depth and expressiveness. More leaning towards dark berries. The alcohol can be felt.

  • A characterful Burgenland wine, clearly too young but with great potential. Varietal composition: 60 % Zweigelt, 20 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Pinot Noir. Maturation: twelve months in new American barriques. Color: very deep ruby-garnet with an opaque core. Bouquet: intense aromas of blackberry, kirsch liqueur, candied orange zest and also some vanilla and oak tones. On the palate: a powerful and opulent wine plenty of ripe red fruit, notes of caramel and dark chocolate, present tannins and a good acid structure. Finish: persistent aftertaste. It seems advisable to leave the wine in storage for two-three years to let the tannins settle down.

Rijping: twaalf maanden in nieuwe Amerikaanse barriques.
