Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 90 points

  • Riesling from the Würzburger Stein, spontaneously fermented, 13% vol.

Restaurant Bayrischer Hof, Oberstaufen. Decent Riesling nose, a bit shy and not very developed yet, on the palate dry, good freshness and depth, medium to long finish.

Very good dry Riesling that needs an additional couple of years to show its potential, will be best 2026 to 2032. 90+.

  • The Wine is gold colored, Quite concentrated. The Legs are fast (13% alc). It has a smooth mouthfeel.

On the nose it´s very fresh and fruity. You get a hint of pineapple and fresh grapes.
After a bit of time it opens up completely and tastes of melon and pears. It's rich and vibrant. The acidity is very pleasant. The sweetness reminds of honey.
The Würzburger Stein always gets me a hint of pineapple are subtle minerality.
For the price it's an absolut beast of a Riesling.
