Nice find here, especially for the price. Interesting connections that make up this winery. I'd like to explore the expansive line-up further. This wine is balanced. Light and fruity, with an interesting sour cherry component that makes it unique.

Opened tonight for my extended family in case they found the 98 Pegau a little too classic :) As it turns out, they liked, both! One of the few Zins I enjoy. Weightless for Zin but still tasty fruit. Alc only, 12.5%!

Patrick Cappiello and his Monte Rio Cellars constantly hit it out of the park in their price range. For $20 bucks, this is an insane steal. You could easily charge $40 for this and end up looking like a genius - it's that good. Sure, it's young, but already showing exemplary balance leaning towards energy. Again, Lodi is just a magical spot for old vine Zinfandel - you get so much quality here.

Cherry tart for a Zin. Strong currant. Hints of vanilla I think. Great summer Zin. Not like the deep, dark, spicy Zins I'm used too.

Its the Sangiovese, and not the Zinfandel.
