  • Pop and pour. Quite pale red with that brownish tint you get with Nebbiolo.
This wine started out a bit muted, but opened up over an hour or so to reveal cherries, rose petals, cranberries, and maybe a hint of menthol on the nose. On the palate, this is a classic Barbaresco. Medium body, med+ acidity with tannins that are grippy but not overwhelming. On the finish there is some tar and a little kirsch.
The wine became deeper and more aromatic over time and the last glass was the best. I regret not decanting this. While this will gain some complexity with age for sure, it's quite good now.

  • Solid step up from the Classico in depth of the floral notes on the nose, intensity on the palate and increased tannic structure. This, like all the SVDs from Nada are matured in huge used Botti and don't see any new oak.
