Very light in color and weight, but not at all thin or unappealing. Had a very nice clove/spicebox flavor and more than stood up to the food that went with it. Reminded me of a decent Rioja or Burgundy. Enjoyed on a Monday night at AOC.

sfwine: Cru Beaujolais (San Francisco): Lifted nose of crunchy red fruits, flower petals, pleasantly herby. The winemakers all screamed VA here but i didn't find it strong enough to be a fault. Nice crunchy, sweet red and purple fruits. Very tasty. Slightly herby, with a more hollow midpalate than the other wines in this Morgon flight. Leftovers held well the next day, still fresh with a more chalky, slightly tannic mouthfeel.

Blind Tasting 2009 Cru Beaujolais (Rich & Peggy's House, Los Altos, CA): Blueberry, vanilla and baking spice on the nose. Light to medium bodied with black raspberry, blackberry and vanilla. Still showing some oak influence which is surprising at almost 8 years of age.
