  • Pairing this up with some baked salmon tonight. Clean citrus notes on both the nose and palate, and pretty enjoyable. There is what I can only describe as a metallic note on the finish. I don’t find it off putting, but I can’t recall sensing this in my previous bottles.

  • A solid Bandol rose. I always remind myself that the Bandol roses are not as acidic as the Provençal (or for that matter Sancerre) roses. The food pairing has to be a bit more thought out. This one was paired with shrimp boil, corn on the cob, and salad . I missed the acidity in the beginning but as it got more air, the enhanced flavors made up for it. Strawberry, red raspberry, ripe cherry .

  • Gorgeous stuff, gets better and better with air... Peach, red fruits, crunchy melon, salty sea air, delicate herbs and flowers... Full, dense and rich on the palate, salty and herbal, fresh and vibrant despite it's power. Long and complex, lots of salty and herbal character. This will be worth following at least another 5 years.

  • A touch leaner than many vintages, but beginning to strut its stuff. A fine Bandol Rosé. Served with ham, hoppin’ John, and cornbread.

  • Finally got to taste The Pibarnon and Tempier 2021s side-by-side for a direct comparison. The Tempier as expected was the crowd favorite. Both are good, but the Pibarnon was more acidic/sour vs. the Tempier which was a little smoother/creamier. With presumably no oak involved for either, I guessed maybe the Tempier goes through malo and the Pibarnon doesn't, but from what I found online, both actually do malo.
