  • Red mountain is one of my favorite AVAs for cabernet sauvignon. This wine is no exception. The stuffing is all there for a good to great wine, especially at this price point. However, I drank this way too young and there was still too much tannin and disjointedness even after a decant. Definitely dark fruits there, plum and blueberry while having a very grape flavor. I wouldn't say jammy as it wasn't sweet or stewed but not very fresh, probably because of not enough age. The secondary flavors came through like dry earthy and savory herbs. Just not enough time for it to all coalesce and let that fruit shine through.
