  • Better than the 2019 of the same wine. And I don't think that's just an aging thing because in addition to a more complex flavor profile, there's more structure here too.

Ripe black cherry, ripe raspberry, mint, toasted clove, cinnamon, dark chocolate, dirt and tobacco on the nose. Slightest hint of funk; but it feels like part of the "dirt" aroma. Medium + intensity of aromas. Tart red fruits dominate the palate, which is overall a bit simpler than the nose. It keeps some of the spice aromas; but not all of them. Only medium intensity of flavors, and the thin body doesn't help things either.

Medium - body with great medium + acid and grippy medium tannin. Despite some shortcomings, this would make a decent "house wine" and paired well with braised pork shoulder.

  • Simple and one dimensional. Cherries, smoke, and a hint of oak. Nothing off but better with food.

  • Not decanted, one glass consumed over 45 minutes at cool room temp. General impression: Reasonably balanced, but something odd about the palate impression kept us from being enthusiastic about this. Although this isn't heavy or sweet and the stated ABV is low, I was picking up a raisinated note I associate with over-ripe grapes. Perhaps a little bit of heat damage? Something in the winemaking? One way or another, this one didn't tick the boxes for us.

  • Straightforward, leaning a little fruity, and yet well balanced. The 12.5 abv, notably low for Tuscany, stood out. Nice paring with homemade pies.

  • Licorice on the nose. Balanced fruit taste. Pretty good.
