This has just got better and better as the years have passed. Very sadly this was my last bottle. Not the most complex wine in the world, but it's rare to find a wine at this price point which can age so elegantly. Highly recommended if you can find it for under $20.

dinner at selkirk manor with pat. paired with fresh caught bluefish supplied by our neighbor. milk soaked, breaded and baked. i usually try to be kind when reviewing wine in deference to the best efforts of the winemaker. at the point of purchase, i remembered having had this wine before but not this particular vintage. when adding tothe cellar, i saw previous notes projecting limited longevity. this caused me to approach the bottle with some trepidation. and now for the uncharacteristic negativity. at fridge temperature, the wine tasted like a molecular interaction between a tin cup serving vessel and pineapple juice. as the wine approached room temperature, things came together in a more gracious way. the wine has mellowed somewhat since the last tasting (1 1/2 years ago). however, it still demonstrates a nice blend of tropical flavors and sustaining acid. to some extent, my palate has matured, and perhaps demands more from california chard. in general. but, at this price point, this is still a credible offering. the precarious opening causes me to think that this wine could fall off the cliff at any moment. will wait for the 2007 vintage to show up.

Nose of apricot, lemon and slight pineapple. Peach, lemon and integrated buttery vanilla on the palette with a medium long finish,
