Last of four bottles. Started to taste some secondary flavors, but not enough to be off-putting (for me). Still dark, bold, and lively. Tremendous effort from Mike Smith.

Mike's first vintage. Really nice, sporting sweet dark fruit, a great texture in the mouth, and mountain tannins that have settled down but still make their presence known. If you have any, pop the cork and give it about 30-45 minutes of air. You'll be a happy camper.

At first we thought this bottle was corked, with almost no nose and the fruit missing from the palate, but after standing for an hour or so I went back to this one, and I'm glad I did... Now the wine is sending out that big, plump, vanilla/oak nose that I remember from my last bottle, and the fruit is present on the palate with the rich and silky mouthfeel that I associate with Myriad cab. A fair bit of spicy oak is there, which will probably integrate over time, but right now this is a fine bottle to open with a cowboy rib-eye, which is what we did.

Tannins integrated. Somewhat round with some fruit profile left, but not much for secondary flavors. Nice, and easy drinking, but not complex.

No formal notes (consumed after a full day of tasting), but I remember this being just flat out delicious.
