  Audozed 1 hour cork out + 1 hour in the decanter; blown away by the clean, expressive noise of black cherry, blackberries, anise and hints of tar- classic Nebbiolo. Great depth of black fruit flavors and mouth-coating texture on the palate. Tannins are more leathery-woodsy and are pulled back before getting astringent, allowing the acidity to kick in with black cherry and anise to come on the fade, while also bringing out some great secondary mineral notes of meat blood, iodine, graphite, and ash. If this wine ages with the complexity of the palate fade, the $60 price tag (Empire Wine) will seem like a steal. A- (92) evaluation to start; will be sitting on my remaining 4 bottles until 2027 at least.
