Blinds w/ Jenny's supper club (Jenny's): (blind) Medium ruby. Pinot-like reductive red fruit. No oak. Med tannins. Strong raw peppercorn aromas. Despite the lighter color, the structure and aromatics are consistent with a leaner Rhone syrah - Crozes-Hermitage.
Actual: Australia Syrah Analysis: I feel good about this call.

Shiraz appreciation - cool climate Australians: dark ruby/purple in glass, light to medium body. fragrant nose of fresh red berries, wild herbs and floral notes. soft and fresh in the mouth, the fruit is laced with notes of pepper, anise and game. polished, grippy tannins and good minerality amplify the experience. moderate length.
seems to be a "sleeper" wine… quite a bit going on, but with subtlety, and with enough structure to develop for some time. upside potential here.
13% AbV; apparently all Shiraz (though it may contain a dollop of Viognier) from the cooler Canberra district

Camphor, cinnamon, clove, white pepper, dried gum leaf. Fruits are shbtle: Raspberry, cherry, plum, bramble, blackberry. Spice more prominent than the fruit compared to previous vintages. Earthy and stringy, less voluptuous.

Eucalyptus and peppered beef jerky on the nose. Green olive palate. Quality is high, but it’s very young and needs at least 3-4 years, ideally 10.
