Expressive nose highlighting Smokey slate, citrus blossom, apple soufflé and mosel-like typicity. Racy and dryer on the palate than anticipated. The length and mineral expression remains the lasting impression suggesting that this bottle has some years ahead of itself to further integrate.
So tasty today, but best in 5-7 years.

Very tense and acidic. Very 2021. Dryer tasting than either of the previous two vintages, and also less ready to go young in my opinion. Seems like this will age forever.

3/12. 8.5% abv. AP 19. I thought, let me drink this again as a prelude to my first taste of the auction version (AP 20, q.v.) NOSE: a broad landscape of broken chalk, lofted in a way that mocks exotic orchard blossom, ginger, red delicious apple peel, and lime zest. MOUTH: a tuned and calibrated advance of lemon-lime, Aperol, and calcium predominate until the apex of the event, where the toned musculature relaxes, revealing inner workings of lemon seed, fenugreek, celery, sumac, salt, and peat. Remarkably measured, pure, and confident in its pace. A classical object that happens to inspire lusty drinking. Acidity has melted slightly since my first bottle—less paper cut; more briney.

AP 19 22. This one's a little difficult. Fisch and Rayer identified the edgy acidity and are probably correct in saying this needs time to settle down an integrate. I'm usually a bit of an acid-head, but even this is pushing my boundaries a bit. It's difficult to even get a feel for the underlying fruit and construction when it's so monolithically sharp and prickley. Not saying there might not be something wonderful underneath once it settles down, but I didn't find this enjoyable to drink at the moment. I'll stash a few bottles to try again down the road, and for most people—definitely hold. 90pts (?).
