An absolutely beautiful wine that showed just how special Burgundian varietals can be in German hands. It was pure class, crystalline, understated, complex, and utterly delicious.

This is indeed a bit of a mashup of German Riesling with a burgundy sensibility. It’s not showing especially complex right now, but it’s very drinkable. A edgy tart fruit and present minerality. Might have some stuffing to evolve for a few years. Will see. Needs another gear.

So, so, so good. This is Weissburgunder a la white Burgundy - this starts off so light and fresh and wraps up with a surprising heft that is perfectly balanced. This has all the refreshing fruit and acid structure of a German white wine but picks up a creaminess and a menthol note that is just gorgeous. This wine is structured and has vibrant acidity but is also silky without any perceptible edges. Truly unique and just so delicious. I’m sure this will age gracefully but it’s hard to imagine having the patience when it drinks like this right now.

Dinner at 312 Fish Market (Chicago, IL): Eh? Didn't understand this at all. Kind of comes off as a non-descript white wine. Neutral in all respects.
