Looks kind of tame in the glass but this is a powerful Sangiovese wine. High acid, big fruit, juicy. Single vineyard in Montalcino, I think this is the same clone they make Brunello from, maybe these grapes didn't quite make the cut ?
Hard to put it down, even after the food is gone !!

Second bottle. That smells way different - savory in a sangiovese way, fresh and vibrant on the palate, lots of cherry fruit but with a bold and powerful structure to it. Allot more acidity and bright cherry fruit, good stuff.

The difference compared to the regular Rosso? - a single parcel adjacent to their single vineyard Brunello. And usually this guy goes into their singular Brunello allotment. And I guess that its got some of the Brunello in it, or could be Brunello, but is separated. Maybe a little bit of smoke or black fruit, I guess I am kinda getting smoke everywhere these days.
